Know Your Numbers Personal Appointments
Knowing and understanding your numbers is vital to good health. Heart disease and other health issues can be predicted using this information. As a service to our community, we are offering the following screenings and education free of charge in the convenience of one appointment: blood test for cholesterol and blood sugar levels, blood pressure, waist measurement, body mass index (BMI), and education. Must be 20 years or older. You can attend Know Your Numbers one time per year. Moms Breastfeeding Group
Mothers and babies are welcome to join us to discuss the joys and challenges of breastfeeding. Drop in with your baby to meet other breastfeeding moms and receive support and encouragement. Older siblings are always welcome. We ask that you please bring some quiet activities they can enjoy seated next to you during a meeting. These groups, for children ages 5-14, provide a relaxed, fun environment full of interactive, hands-on activities that help foster self-confidence and interpersonal skills. After an initial screening, children are matched to the group that compliments their personality best. Aquatic Exercise
This class is for individuals with back pain, joint paint including arthritis, soft tissue pain including fibromyalgia, or individuals seeking to improve cardiovascular fitness. Warm water sessions decrease pain with improved range of motion, stretching and flexibility. Class meets once a week for eight weeks. Days and times vary. Dialectical Behavior Therapy Teen Group: Emotion Management
Does your teen need to replace problem behaviors with more adaptive ways of coping with distress? Emily Dienst, licensed professional counselor, and Sarah VanMeter, licensed clinical social worker, help teens integrate behavioral strategies using validation and acceptance techniques rooted in mindfulness. Teens can regulate emotions by increasing stress tolerance, decreasing self-destructive behaviors, and recognizing and changing chaotic relationships. A free assessment is required of each potential group member to ensure an appropriate group match. Insurance is bellied and most insurance plans accepted.
