Ingredients for Healthy Living: Fall Dishes with Grains & Beans
Join Jo Cessna, healthy culinary instructor, as she introduces fall main dishes like stews, salad, quiche, and pilaf using faro, tempeh, brown rice, and pinto beans. Recipes and tastings provided. Blood Pressure Clinic
Valley West nurse volunteers offer free weekly blood pressure checks at Valley West Community Hospital every Wednesday from 9 to 11 a.m. Just walk in, no registration is required.
Blood Pressure Clinic – KPG, Plano
A KishHealth System health professional monitors your blood pressure weekly. Each participant receives blood pressure information and a tracking card. Free. No appointment necessary. Every Monday, from 9 – 11 a.m.., at KishHealth Physician Group, 12700 W. Route 34, Plano.
Lactation Consultations
Lactation Consultations are available to meet with moms one-on-one to answer questions and provide guidance, making the breastfeeding experience positive for all moms. Girls Only…Your Changing Body
This program is for 9 – 12 year old girls and their moms. The natural physical and emotional changes a young girl experiences can be overwhelming and puzzling. Knowing what to expect can lessen anxiety and make the transition smoother. Girls Only is Sept. 18, 6 – 8 p.m. in the Valley West Medical Office Building. $10/Family. Registration required.
