The University of Illinois confirmed today that they will allow students back to its’ Urbana campus this fall. Some students will take in-person classes as long as they wear face masks, submit to coronavirus testing, temperature testing, and practice social distancing as required by the University, other students will have distance learning classes.
In an experimental program, the fall semester will consist of a combination of both in-class and distance instruction. Students that live on campus (independent housing, frats, societies) or will be living in university housing (including freshmen who are required to reside on campus) will have in-classroom experiences or submit a special request to learn from a distance learning program (depending on departments).
New guidelines for attending the University of Illinois in Urbana, as well as Springfield and Chicago will be forthcoming in the near future.
