United Way’s Day of Caring is currently accepting volunteers this year. The Day of Caring will be on June 16th, 2016. Day of Caring is an organized day of service during which volunteers visit, assist, and complete projects at a variety of our community’s non-profit agencies. Each agency submits requests for volunteer help on a broad variety of projects ranging from reading to children, delivering meals to the elderly, repairing and painting houses, planting gardens, and refurbishing agency offices. Project locations vary throughout the day.
With numerous projects requiring a good number of volunteers, they need you and your organization’s participation to make this year successful! They have projects starting at 9am and 1pm. Feel free to forward this information to friends, neighbors, scouting groups, church groups, etc..
They would like people to respond by June 10th so that they can get individuals and groups matched to projects. Walk-ins at the Kick-Off Rally at Hopkins Park at 8:30am on Thursday, June 16th will be matched to projects that morning.
