Are you confused by the different grant programs offered by the DeKalb County Community Foundation (DCCF)? Or do you need help learning to write a grant application? The DCCF and the DeKalb County Nonprofit Partnership are offering two FREE workshops for grant seekers.
Not-for-profit organizations are often faced with the challenge of finding new funding sources to maintain their services as well as support their growth. There are numerous types of grants and navigating through the different requirements can be challenging and sometimes frustrating. The first workshop, titled ‘Grant Writing 101’ will provide the new grant writer with some useful tips and strategies to get started on the grant writing process. Sponsored by the DeKalb County Nonprofit Partnership (DCNP), the workshop is free, but participants should register online below.
Nonprofit and charitable organizations interested in applying for a grant specifically from the DeKalb County Community Foundation are invited to a free workshop on January 23 from 9–10:30 a.m., or in the afternoon on the 23rd from 2-3:30 at the DCCF Depot Freight Room at 475 DeKalb Avenue in Sycamore.
Attendees will learn valuable tips and strategies to increase their chances of receiving funding from the Foundation’s various grant programs available throughout the year. DCCF Program Staff, Anita Zurbrugg and Becky Zantout, will review the DCCF’s grant programs, grant guidelines, and funding policies.
“The DCCF has two grant deadlines approaching: Youth Engaged in Philanthropy Grants are due February 1 and the Community Needs Grant deadline is March 1.” says Zantout, “The DCCF Grants workshop is a great opportunity for us to update potential applicants about these and other grant opportunities and to answer questions from potential applicants.” Attendees should RSVP by January 21 by calling 815-748-5383 or e-mailing becky@dekalbccf.org.
