On September 1, Northern Illinois University Police conducted a traffic stop at the 600 block of South Annie Glidden Road, which led to a drug investigation where officers located 2,270 grams of cannabis within the vehicle operated by Alec S. Hafeman of DeKalb. Hafeman has no affiliation with NIU as a student or staff member.
Hafeman, 21, was charged with Unlawful Possession of Cannabis more than 2,000 grams but no more than 5,000 grams, Unlawful Delivery of Cannabis more than 2,000 grams but no more than 5,000 grams and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Illinois State Police assisted with the investigation.

Individuals named who have been charged with a crime have not yet been proven guilty in court.
