As drivers age, there are important attributes to look for in a vehicle. Consumer Reports pulled together a list of vehicles that meet the needs of aging drivers. Specifically, vehicle comfort, safety and reasonably priced, while offering features seniors appreciate.
All recommended models earned overall scores of “excellent” or “very good” in their respective classes, but the magazine narrowed down the features seniors may want to pay closer attention to:
- Front-seat access: vehicles that offer lower door sills and wider openings and have reduced heights for the step-in.
- Visibility: Car equipped with powerful headlights to make driving easier at night.
- Control: easy-to-read gauges and intuitive controls for changing the radio, shifting gears and adjusting the temperature.
