Over 500 ComEd and contractor crews were out all day yesterday working to restore power to over 52,000 customers, including many DeKalb County residents and businesses. These guys were true heroes for braving the extreme cold in order to help people stay warm and safe during dangerous conditions.
Here is a nice story from Pete’s Castle Marathon in Genoa, where 1500 residents were without power for part of the day yesterday:
“We had 2 linemen come in yesterday. They were picking up lots of snacks (we were the only ones open in town!) They brought everything up & a gentleman was standing by the counter insisted on paying for all they got! They declined but he Insisted. The com ed guys were very appreciative & left with smiles on their faces. Just wanted to share – OUR CUSTOMERS ARE THE BEST!”
