THANK YOU TO OUR RESIDENTS: NOW WE BEGIN A NEW LEGACY!!!
The Sycamore Park Board and Staff wishes to thank the citizens of Sycamore for their approval of the referendum in support of Vision 20/20. Your belief in the future of our Park system and the investment in your community speaks volumes.
Special thanks to the Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC), and the Community Wide Strategic Planning Team (CWSPT) for their extensive hard work on guiding the park district to this point. Additionally, the park district thanks its many volunteers, Sycamore Youth Baseball, Sycamore Youth Football and Kishwaukee Youth Football, and everyone who hosted a yard sign or, in general, supported this Vision for Sycamore. Much credit goes to the “Trailblazers 4 Sycamore Parks” group as well. This “yes” vote demonstrated you care about our quality of life and the future of Sycamore Parks.
We are eager to meet and engage the Community as we move forward with our Vision, as we develop plans for the Community Center, improve the Sports Complex, link the trails, add a dog park, sled hill, splash pad and finally update our golf course irrigation system. The park district knows that there are many who voted against this referendum, as well. To those residents, the district remains committed to efficient use of the resources all of our citizens contribute to making Sycamore parks and recreation a strong asset to our community.
Board President, Ted Strack, said “We are ready to double-down on our hard work and commitment to this great park district and begin work on a new legacy with our residents. There are exciting times ahead. The citizens of Sycamore won tonight. ”
