Photo – From play equipment to personnel – first aid to finance – automobiles to administration and beyond… Sycamore Park District staff have worked very hard over the past year to assess and improve risk management District-wide. On Friday, the District passed its first Loss Control Review with risk management agency, PDRMA (96.25/100)! These binders represent documentation of policies, forms, procedures and trainings. The other portion of the review is observation of staff on the job and facility/equipment inspections. Aside from keeping patrons and staff safe, there are many other benefits to operating in accordance with PDRMA’s safety benchmarks. In particular, it is another way that the District ensures that tax money is spent efficiently and can be stretched farther. PDRMA (Park District Risk Management Agency) is an intergovernmental risk pool offering self-insured Property/Casualty and health coverage to park districts, special recreation associations, and forest preserve/conservation districts throughout Illinois. The next step is for the District to continue implementing these safety initiatives and eventually become an accredited PDRMA agency.
