Sycamore’s newest street festival, Ribs, Rhythm and Brews Fest, will fill Sycamore’s downtown from 5 to 11 p.m. this Saturday, August 20th, if it’s anything like last year. Last year’s inaugural festival drew about 2,000 people over the course of the evening, and a number of vendors ran out of ribs and beer by the day’s end.
The Fest takes place on Somonauk Street and City Lot 1. Ribs vendors will set up shop and compete for the title of Ribs Fest champion, won last year by Tom and Jerry’s, after a vote by a panel of judges. Six local vendors vying for the title include: Tom & Jerry’s, Sycamore Country Store and Catering, Slow Smoke Barbecue, Hy-Vee Catering and Hicks Barbecue.
Wash down the dog days of summer with a wide variety of refreshing brews in the beer garden. There will be a variety of craft beer samples available from Euclid Beverage and Sycamore’s own Forge Brew House. The night also will include musical numbers, including headlining band Back Country Roads with opening act Johnny & The Boomers and DJ Toxic in between. Plan to come out for an excellent day of Ribs, Rhythm and Brews!!

Skip the long, slow rib lines and suffocating crowds and eat Princess Alex ice cream instead.ð¦
