This weekend, August 8th – 11th, is the 57th Annual Sycamore Steam Show and Threshing Bee. Sponsored by the Northern Illinois Steam Power Club, this four day event is at the Taylor Marshall Farm on Plank Rd.. Open daily from 7am – 6pm, admission is $6, children under 12 are free. Thursday is Senior Citizens Day where they get in for $3. Parking is free.
Each day begins with breakfast served until 9am. When the noon whistle blows, it’s time out for lunch with pork chops and chicken BBQ served by local favorite, Fay’s BBQ. Food is served each day until 6pm. At 1:30 each day is the can’t miss Parade, featuring old Steam Engines, Tractors, Cars and other antique machines. Whatever you do, if you go to this show, plan on being there at 1:30 for this unique event.
