On November 19, 2023, the Sycamore Library proudly announces a remarkable historical event: President Abraham Lincoln’s return to our community. In a captivating program titled Lincoln and Thanksgiving, attendees of all ages will have the unique opportunity to delve into the origins of our national observance of Thanksgiving, as established during Lincoln’s presidency.
This exclusive session will feature Mr. Lincoln himself, embodying the spirit and essence of the 16th President of the United States. Through engaging storytelling, President Lincoln will illuminate the historical journey that led to the establishment of Thanksgiving as an annual national observance. Jill Carter, PR, and Marketing Manager for Sycamore Library, expressed her excitement, stating, “We are thrilled to bring this immersive experience to the community. This event not only offers a unique glimpse into history but also underscores the significance of Thanksgiving and its roots within our nation’s story.”
Attendees will be invited to participate in a Q&A session, providing a rare chance to interact directly with President Lincoln. Furthermore, guests will have the special privilege of capturing cherished moments through photographs with the President in his authentic period attire following his address.
