The Sycamore Fire Department announces this years’ annual presentation of the “Red Wreath Program.” The Sycamore Red Wreath Program began in 1997, as a way to bring awareness of fire and home safety during the holiday season.
On Thanksgiving Day, November 23, 2023, a red wreath will be placed on the outside of both Sycamore Fire Stations. They will be displayed until January 1, 2024. The wreath will have all red bulbs when displayed. When there is an emergency incident related to the holiday season, the Fire Fighters will put a white bulb in the place of a red bulb for each incident.
Last year, the red wreaths indicated no incident related to the holiday season. Please help us to keep the wreath red.
A “Red Wreath Report” will follow in January. If you have any questions about the Red Wreath Program, or would like any information about fire safety, please contact Deputy Chief James Ward at the Sycamore Fire Department 895-4514 during normal business hours.
