
For the second day in a row, the State of Illinois has reported a record number of new coronavirus cases in a single day.
State Health Department Officials announced 4,554 new cases in the last 24 hours and an additional 38 deaths.
DeKalb County has reported 37 new positive COVID-19 cases. Today is the last day for Governor Pritzker recommended Restaurants and Bars inside dining to end in Region 1 (which includes DeKalb County).
The number of cases is also rising in Chicago. Chicago is seeing a weekly average of more than 475 cases per day. This is an increase of 42% jump compared to previous weeks. Mayor Lightfoot’s Office and City Health Officials previously stated they could revive more restrictions if cases surpassed 400 a day.
