Stage Coach Players (SCP) continues to “Spark Hope” this season as they once again be collecting food for and household items giving away fabric if you are looking to create your own masks on the second and fourth Tuesdays for the foreseeable future. The collection to be held on Tues., Feb. 9, 2021 will run from 4to 6 p.m. and be held in the theatre’s back parking lot. The address is 126 S. 5th Street in DeKalb.
SCP will continue its partnership with Safe Passage, DeKalb County’s only Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Crisis Center. SCP will be collecting household items, hygiene items, hair products, cleaning supplies and gift cards. To learn more about Safe Passage and for a more specific list of most-needed items, visit www.safepassagedv.org and, in the menu, click on the “Ways to Give” icon.
This week’s food donations will be going to the Kishwaukee College Food Pantry, called Kody’s Cupboard. Kody’s Cupboard helps provide supplemental resources to alleviate hunger and meet basic needs for the Kishwaukee College campus community. We will be accepting non-perishable items such as canned meat, vegetables and fruit along with boxed food and items in plastic containers. We are also accepting paper products. Please no glass containers. Because of the current virus concerns as with many local food pantries, there is a shortage of necessary items for those in need.
During the month of February, SCP will also be seeking input from the local community in order to diversify their offerings, engage more actively with all members of the DeKalb and Sycamore community, and improve outreach. To that end, a survey will be available from February 1 – 20, 2021, to gather public feedback and will be linked from the homepage at www.stagecoachplayers.com. The survey will also be sent out via social media channels For more information on SCP, visit our website www.stagecoachplayers.com or find us on Facebook and Twitter.
