Stage Coach Players of DeKalb will be returning Tuesday, January 12 to perform our community outreach during the COVID-19 pandemic. We thank everyone who donated in 2020 during these trying times and hope your holidays have given you a well-deserved respite. Stage Coach Players will again be collecting food for and household items giving away fabric if you are looking to create your own masks on the second and fourth Tuesdays for the foreseeable future. The collection will run from 4:00 PM through 6:00 PM and be held in the theatre’s back parking lot. The address is 126 S. 5th Street in DeKalb.
For the food drive, we are accepting non-perishable items such as canned meat, vegetables and fruit along with boxed food and items in plastic containers. We are also accepting paper products. Please no glass containers. Because of the current virus concerns as with many local food pantries, there is a shortage of necessary items for those in need.
In addition, the cabaret series is still available on the Stage Coach Players’ YouTube channel to help your desire for local singers to perform musical pieces. Episode ten will premiere at 6 p.m. on Saturday January 2nd and is called “Dreams for a New Year.” It will feature songs from musical about hopes and dreams. Some of the songs featured come from The Wedding Singer, Man of La Mancha and The Prom.
