This Thursday, February 2nd, the Sycamore History Museum’s Brown Bag lunch will be a “Show and Tell” event. Michelle Donahoe, Executive Director, will be showing some artifacts that connect to the Museum’s upcoming exhibit “Adventures to and from Sycamore.” The audience is also encouraged to bring items that they have and share the interesting stories that are part of the piece’s history.
“We always have a good turn out during our ‘Show and Tell’ programs. People love to tell stories about family treasures, and this program will be a great opportunity to share those recollections with a larger audience,” explained Donahoe.
While staff is still working on the exhibit, some of themes that will be explored include World War I, Chautauquas, the Farm Bureau, and the Alaskan Gold Rush. The exhibit’s opening will be in April 2017.
This program will be held at the DeKalb County Community Foundation’s Freight Room, 475 DeKalb Ave. in Sycamore, and starts at 12:00 p.m. Thursday. The program is free and open to the public, donations are always welcome. Coffee and cookies are provided. For more information call 815-895-5762.
