At about 3:30 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 30, NIU and DeKalb Police responded to a shooting at 1076 Ridge Road in DeKalb. The suspect was described as a male with dreadlocks wearing a blue puffy coat. He fled the scene in a four-door Pontiac with three other individuals. Police are searching the area.

That’s ridge drive for you. Have you seen the kind of people that live over there? When we lived over there we were constantly calling cops for large groups of people fighting outside. Witnesses just standing around recording it on their cell phones. All the obvious drug slinging. So glad we got out of there!

I was out walking my dog at 330_this morning when I heard 3 shots..cops were already dispatched to scene for large group in front of residence..I live off 7th and Lincoln and heard them clearly..the shooters drove off..what’s stupid is they were pulled over in the same car earlier that day..this town is getting ridiculous..

NIU needs to be choosier in their acceptance of whom they let come to NIU.Ones that really want a future..and not a future in crime.DeKalb used to be a nice place.

Lived in Dekalb from 1980-1998 great place to live. Moved back here in 2011- present. Ghetto!!! What happened in that13 years? Not the same nice town. I want to move.
