Current life in DeKalb, IL. Bring on more Chicago residents.
Are they that stupid to come to this side of town? There Are a lot more gun owners that have a concealed carry permit than there are on campus.
The new Chicago!
I remember you
It will begin to stop at the next election!!! Everybody who is in am elected in the town of DeKalb should be voted out!!! The drop the ball on everything they touch!!!
Better get it together guys and clean this city up…. used to be a safe and quiet town…
I got an email 2 1/2 hours after it happened from the school superintendent. Totally unacceptable.
I got no emails but I got a call from some service in Omaha almost 3 hours after the incident. Not effective at all!!
My daughter was already home from school with me before I knew anything happened. I sat out in car wait line from 250 til school was over. Nothing. School wasn’t that far from incident.
Off campus and niu was notified, but no one in DeKalb proper including Camelot close to where this took place…I forgot…this is DeKalb, go figure…
Right by my special needs sons school! And I didn’t get a notification till a few hours after the incident. I picked him up at 2:20 and saw cops on 7th. I was not told by the teacher when they brought him out. This is unacceptable! Shouldn’t the school have been on lockdown? Wtf?! This area is ridiculous! How was my son safe?
Camelot doesn’t follow district 428 rules and guidelines
So then it’s ok? We are not in district 428, FYI. A school is a school and should be put on lockdown when shit like this occurs, no matter what. Best believe I will be checking and double checking the handbook. And raising hell.
I agree. Something should have been done. However, did the school even know what happened?
I’m not even sure! I will be checking on that. Maybe they were left out of the loop as well. At least I hope that’s what happened.
unacceptable !! The school should have been notified to get locked. They said the assailant took off on foot!! Who is say the didn’t hide in the school
Somebody really dropped the ball here!! That’s for sure!! ð¡
im gonna assume they didnt know. i used to work at camelot and know many staff over there still. if they knew, they wldnt have let those kids out. regardless, so scary for parents to hear this and have a kiddo so close. i wld have been in a panic
I hope not Jennifer Jeannette. I wasn’t panicked at the time because we weren’t notified. But I’m sure upset after the fact.
The police did not notify us about the incident. We had no idea or we wouldn’t have dismissed the children. We did not find out until after all the students were gone.
The police never told us.
Thank you Angela Janick, that call should have came to the school as they were dispatching police. Especially with the students moving back and forth between buildings and such. It’s comforting to know the school didn’t drop the ball, but highly disappointing the police department did.
The safety of our students is most important. Thankfully, everyone was safe.
when is it gonna stop?????
Its not, its going to get worst.
Is there a description so we can be on the alert?
There isn’t much to go on – two black males, wearing black clothing, around 18 years of age, one possibly carrying a samurai sword. That was all and they said there was no threat to the public but I never heard about anyone being under arrest either.
Ya an 18 and 16 yr old thug!
Yep all the thugs are coming this way !!
Federal mandates don’t always equate safety.
Heavily tanned individuals?
Um, no….lets call it like it is….the suspect is black!
Welcome to Dee Kalb!
This town is getting getting absolutely ridiculous!
