Sandwich Freedom Days is an exciting three day festival this Friday-Sunday, July 1st, 2nd and 3rd. There will be great food served all weekend, vendors and crafters, games for the adults and for the little ones, a beer garden and live music. Get a free five minute massage, have fun in giant inflatables, watch a helium balloon launch, enjoy the fireworks and much more.
The weekend kicks off on Friday at 6pm with a downtown beer garden which is new this year, food and the live band, Heartless, the national tribute band of HEART. There will also be a Car Show at Timber Creek Inn & Suites on Friday from 5pm-8pm.
The Sandwich Freedom Days Parade starts the day on Saturday at 10am. From 11am-3pm will be a Kids Bike Rodeo. A Jr. Fire Hose competition will be held at the Firehouse at 11:30am Saturday. The Stone Mill Museum will be open from noon-4pm where one can learn some interesting history of Sandwich. An nationally touring Elvis Tribute Show will begin at 2pm, as will a kids mini tractor pull. Country band Back Country Roads will play at 5pm and classic rock band Phidget will take the stage at 8pm.
Sunday at Sandwich Freedom Days kicks off with a pancake breakfast and the Freedom Run one mile fun run and 5k race check in at 7am. New this year, the traveling Memorial Wall honoring 240 Illinois fallen Heros from Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom will be displayed. At 10am Sunday the Sandwich VFW will honor the wall with a posting of their Color Guard. There will be great food, games, inflatables, vendors and crafters all day Sunday.
From 11am-4pm see some awesome bikes, vendors and listen to music at the Motorcycle Show at the Timber Creek Inn & Suites. Beer Garden in downtown Sandwich opens at noon on Sunday. Dakota, a National act and #1 Frank Sinatra tribute singer who has performed on many T.V. shows plus Brad Pitt & Jennifer Aniston’s wedding will perform at 1pm Sunday.
At 4pm Sunday the downtown fun comes to an end and at 5:30pm the activities resume at the Sandwich Fairgrounds. Watch a vintage baseball game, food, DJ and more.
