Starting on Wednesday, September 4th, and running thru Sunday, September 8th, this is the week of the 126th annual Sandwich Fair. Sandwich is proud to be the home of the Sandwich Fair (less and less aka: The DeKalb County Fair). Held every year since 1889, it is the oldest continuing county fair in the State of Illinois. The Sandwich Fair has been voted the #1 Fair in Illinois, and it is easy to understand why 190,000 to 240,000 people gather on the grounds of the Sandwich Fair each year. It is not only fun to participate in the fair events, activities, and excitement, but it is wonderful to simply stroll along the beautiful tree-lined grounds and attractive historic buildings.
The Sandwich Fair is a “happening” of old traditions and new surprises where friends and family come together to enjoy national entertainment, motor events, great food, a large carnival midway, exhibits, livestock judging, tractor pulls, live entertainment and the list goes on and on. Whether you are a newcomer to the Sandwich Fair or a long-time attendee, you will find this event has something for everyone and deserves a blue ribbon.
Chris Cagle will take the Grandstand Stage on Friday evening with Special Guest Dustin Lynch. On the Ag Land stage there will be an Armed Forces Tribute , USO type show on Friday, then the band Snapshot takes the stage. Back Country Roads and JP & The Cats play Saturday and Patchouli plays on Sunday. All Ag Land entertainment is included with admission.
