A section of Illinois Route 23 just east of Waterman will be closed and traffic rerouted for five days starting Wednesday because of railroad crossing repairs according to an Illinois Department of Transportation news release.
The closure of Illinois Route 23 will be between U.S. Routes 30 and 34 for about five days to allow the BNSF Railway Co. to repair its crossing, according to the release.
Northbound traffic will proceed west on U.S. Route 34 to Interstate 39, north on I-39 to U.S. Route 30, and east on U.S. Route 30 back to Illinois Route 23.
Southbound traffic will proceed west on U.S. Route 30 to I-39, south on I-39 to U.S. Route 34, and east on U.S. Route 34 back to Illinois Route 23.
