River Levels Rose Last Night – Sycamore Park District Announces More Closings

Friday, June 19th Update: As the waters recede, the park district continues to monitor the parking lot that serves the swimming pool. It currently is about 80% under water. Therefore, we the park be closed yet, today. A decision will be made about tomorrow at 10:00am on Saturday. You can check, here, or call the community center at 815-895-3202.

Of course, this means that swim lessons are cancelled for today, as well. The Golf Course will be closed today and Saturday, but MAY re-open on Sunday for front nine walking golf. Check with the golf course at815-899-3926.

The river came up a lot last night. The clubhouse now needs to be closed as it cannot currently be accessed by the public. The pool also will be closed until further notice as the parking lot is now full of water. The entire golf course will be closed until further notice as holes one and nine now have large portions covered with water.

Gates are now closed at each entrance off of Route 64 with just one side of the white gates open at the west entrance with cones in front for staff to pass through. Park District staff will evaluate the ball fields off Airport Rd. during the day today and contact user groups if some are playable for this evening. More updates will come as time passes.
