Come join in for a ”Refuse to be a Victim” workshop, A Workshop for Safety in Honor of Toni Keller that provides practical instruction on situational awareness along with the latest information about how to prevent, or respond to, encounters with a potential attacker or assailant. This course is offered to the public at the DeKalb Elks Club at the corner of Route 38 and Annie Glidden Road this Tuesday, November 1st, from 6-9pm. Everyone is welcomed and encouraged to register and attend, a lot of this class will focus on suggestions for university students.
The $20 per person registration includes a notebook filled with dozens of practical suggestions for your personal and home safety. ($5.00 of your registration will be donated back to the Elks Club for hosting this event.) The 3 hours of information and training will equip you with the knowledge necessary to avoid a confrontation, and is essentially preventative in nature. The instructor, Laurie Dougherty, says that these practical tips apply to Men & Women. This is not a firearms or martial arts class.
