The public is invited to a reception on Monday, May 1 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. to honor DeKalb’s outgoing elected officials. The reception will be held in Council Chambers at City Hall, 200 South Fourth Street. Mayor John Rey, City Clerk Jennifer Jeep Johnson, Alderman Robert Snow and Alderman David Baker will be departing their City leadership positions during the Regular City Council meeting on Monday, May 8.
Rey has served as Mayor since May 2013. Johnson was appointed to the Office of City Clerk in July 2015. Snow has been Alderman of the Fourth Ward since May 2013, and Baker has been Alderman of the Sixth Ward since April 2001.
Incoming elected officials will be sworn in during the May 8 Regular City Council meeting, which begins at 6:00 p.m.. The new elected officials will be Jerry Smith (Mayor), Susanna Herrmann (City Clerk), Patrick Fagan (Fourth Ward Alderman), and Mike Verbic (Sixth Ward Alderman).
