This was the first school board meeting after the referendum not an official FPC meeting. The enhancement on youtube is much better to listen to.
Mark, I think your comment should be reworded a bit. Not the entire Facilities Planning Committee was involved in the taped conversation. Mac and I were only at our first meeting with the intentions to join and we were not officially accepted at this point by the school board. The main voice heard is that of Cohen Barnes. I believe that 2 of the additional voices are that of Holly Wallace, school board member, and Dr. Lyndsey Hall, at that time principal of DHS.
Yes, this was the first meeting after the referendum and there was much excitement within many of the committee members with the new task at hand. I just wish that many of them would remember their promises as we begin to move forward from this point. I'm glad Mac found this recording and thanks to Mark for the enhancement.
Mac- I have posted the enhanced Audio on YOUTUBE as well:
Thanks Mark!
File removed because Mark also uploaded the audio to YouTube (see link below).
I recorded this at a school board meeting. I believe it was the first one after the referendum passed so a smudge consideration of euphoria might be extended. By the way (in response to some), the digital recorder I used was not hidden. It is legal and ethical to record and publish any portion of a meeting held in accordance to the Illinois Open Meetings Act.
Sent enhanced Audio to MAC and Lynn…feel free to post it. This lack of respect for the taxpayer by the Facilities planning committee disgusts me!
I will send him an e-mail.
I don't have Mark's email address. Can somebody who does email or call him and see if he can. I know many of the voices but I think many others will be able to recognize them if cleared up a bit.
I'll bet Chervat could do that Ivan.
I do wish that there was someone out there that could help Mac digitally enhance the recording above. It would be very easy for many to know who is speaking and what they are saying.
Wasn't it amazing Kerry to see how few of the citizen members of the FPC attending this past meeting. Naive? Not those referendum supporting FPC members who continued on post referendum.
WHoaa! Watergate revisited? What were those plumbers names? TAPES? What TAPES!? NIXON WHO?
Well, it looks like there is plenty of EVIDENCE to show the ineptness (and perhaps bait and switch tactics) of our (at least some of them) school board and administrative leaders. Not to mention at least some of the citizens/businessperson group that pushed through the referendum on exaggerated and non-disclosed data. I'm also quite sure there were some who were simply naive, and were swept along by the *PROMISE* of a new, safe, High School and the FUTURE HOPE of a second referendum to restore equity to all other schools in the district. So sad, so sad!
So here's some more of the evidence: http://moss.dist428.org/district/business/Documen…
Compare the above plan (2007) to the new Master Facilities Plan made available at the 9/21/09 Facilities Planning Commission (FPC) meeting. NO MENTION OF SCHOOL CLOSINGS IN THE 2007 REPORT…
Strange how the Facilities Planning Committee's report and especially the administration's perspective, changed so drastically in only a couple years. (After all, the 2007 report was looking forward ten years!) Kind of gives me the idea that all our highly paid professionals and their highly paid consultants don't really know any more than the rest of us after all! Difference is, they get the big salaries and can move on, the rest of us are stuck with the TAX BILL!
Turn your volume to the max and listen a couple of times. What were those promises? This is very disturbing….

It does NOT surprise me at all that the ppl in this taping are Holly Wallace, Hall and Barnes. The lack of respect heard, is sickening. What these ppl think lying to the community is ok?
