Last week, the building at the corner of First Street and Lincoln Highway, which long housed the bar/music venue Otto’s, was reduced to rubble and cleared away to make space for a new commercial building. As the building came down, local residents gathered on the street to watch and share stories.
Otto’s was a staple in the local music and entertainment community for thirty years, until a burst pipe in 2014 rendered the building uninhabitable. Some of the artists the venue attracted over the years included Wilco, Snoop Dogg and Ted Nugent.
The new building will house commercial space and executive residential suites.
