The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of DeKalb turns 50 this year and one way they are celebrating is by hosting a special concert with Peter Mayer, folk artist extraordinaire. The concert will be held this Saturday, November 6th at 7:00 pm at the church. The Unitarian Universalist church is located at 158 North Fourth Street in DeKalb.
Peter Mayer’s songs are about interconnectedness and the human journey and vary from the whimsical to the profound. “Mayer’s songs are crafted like shaker furniture, with no throwaway lines… (his) world is bright and hopeful and the transcendent nature of his lyrics…explore the mysteries of life…”
Mayer’s fluid, clean, and tremendously intriguing guitar playing is topped with warm, rich vocals. This is music for the soul.” Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door the night of the performance. Early ticket purchase is suggested because there is limited seating. Child care for children under six will be provided. For questions or more information contact Dan Kenney at 815-793-0950 or for tickets call the UUFD office 815-756-7089 or email the church office.
