Malta native and former professional basketball player, Justin Allen, will be in town to conduct a one-day basketball and life skills camp in Sycamore on Saturday, October 27, 2018.
The camp will include two sessions: 5th – 8th graders from 9 a.m. -12 p.m. and 9th – 12th graders from 12 p.m. – 3 p.m. Both sessions are for boys and girls. The camp costs $100. The event will be two hours of basketball skill development and one hour of athletic life coaching.

Justin Allen grew up in Malta, Illinois, where he was a two-time all-state basketball player at Malta High School and set school records in both points and rebounds. He graduated with a 3.875 GPA and went on to play at Arizona State University and professionally for six years all over the world.
He also overcame cancer and won several national courage awards (Jimmy V Courage Award, Gene Autry Courage Award) and was featured in 100 Heroes: People in Sports Who Make This a Better World by Richard Lapchick.
Allen is now a certified life coach, focusing on teaching athletes mental, emotional, and life skills needed to perform better on the court and develop as people. Full Bio
