ParkPartners15.2Many individuals, businesses and organizations in the community go above and beyond in their support of or contribution to the Sycamore Park District. The Park District Board of Commissioners is taking initiative to recognize some of these “Park Partners” on an annual basis. At its meeting on January 19, the Board awarded its inaugural 2015 recipients: long-time Summer Concert Series sponsor, the Mary E. Stevens Concert and Lecture Fund and volunteer, Robert Dobberstein.

The Mary E. Stevens Concert and Lecture Fund plays a big role in keeping our community’s culture vibrant and accessible. The Park District is very lucky to call them a sponsor. Karen Daleo, VP and Trust Tax Manager at NB & T, manages the fund and accepted the award on its behalf. The fund has been a sponsor of the District’s Summer Concert Series since 2007 – a contribution along with other valuable sponsors that has helped it become the community asset it is.

Robert Dobberstein has volunteered with the District for nearly ten years. He helps the Park District’s concessions department at the Clubhouse, Sports Complex and Summer Concert Series. During the summer he logs up to ten hours a week! In addition to lending a hand, Robert has a “how can I help?” attitude and takes initiative to be a friendly face and advocate for the Park District.

The Sycamore Park District Board of Commissioners is thankful for these and all Park District supporters throughout the community and looks forward to establishing a long list of Park Partner Award recipients for many years to come.
