Or just take a step back in time as Indian Valley Theatre presents “Yes Virginia, There Is a Santa Claus – Radio Drama” this weekend onFriday, December 13th and Saturday, December 14th at 7pm and Sunday, December 15th at 2pm at the historic Sandwich Opera House on Railroad Street which is beautifully decorated to celebrate the Holidays. Listen to this classic Christmas story as IVT’s actors/actresses use their voices and facial expressions accompanied by authentic sound effects to bring this special Holiday favorite to life.
Over 100 years ago Virginia O’Hanlon wrote to the editor of the New York Sun to ask if Santa Claus was real. She wrote: “Dear Editor, I am 8 years old. Some of my little friends say there is no Santa Claus. Papa says if you see it in the Sun, it’s so. Please tell me the truth. Is there a Santa Claus?” “Yes Virginia, There Is a Santa Claus – Radio Drama” was inspired by this letter and the timeless editorial response printed on the Sun’s front page.
“Yes Virginia, There Is a Santa Claus!” is a play for young and old, magically reaffirming life’s highest beauty and joy —”the eternal light with which childhood fills the world.”
Tickets are on sale NOW on IVT’s website www.indianvalleytheatre.com. DO NOT miss this family friendly, heartwarming holiday story and live reenactment of an old-time radio show!
