Tis the season for Ghosts, Bats and Vampires! Join Indian Valley Theatre as they present ‘Dracula: the Musical?’. Come meet IVT’s resident Vampire and all the other cast members of this very funny and possibly insane musical production at the Historic Sandwich Opera House, 140 E. Railroad St. in Sandwich at 7:30pm on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 22nd and 23rd and 2pm on Sunday, Oct. 24th. You may even meet a ghost or two!
‘Dracula: the Musical?’ by Rick Abbott, is a humorous, rollicking version of Bram Stoker’s horror classic but comes complete with music, dance and lots of laughs.
This week IVT would like to spotlight 3 Dracula cast members: Logan Graham, Jim Steadman and Caitlin Carr.
Logan Graham who plays the role of Boris Renfield is excited to be making his IVT debut! He is 24 years old and lives in Plano. Logan grew up in North Vernon, IN and was part of several high school productions including ‘Oklahoma’ and ‘Music Man’. After graduation he lived in L.A. for two years where he did a student film, auditioned for many productions and most importantly met his fiancé! He also enjoys music and writing. Future goals are to attend school to study special effects, and or directing, and making lots of happy memories with his fiancé. Currently, Logan is registered to attend classes at Second City! He wishes to thank his family, friends and fiancé for supporting and encouraging him!
Another cast member making his IVT debut in ‘Dracula’ is James Steadman, who will be portraying the role of Sam Seward. Jim is a recent Sandwich resident, enjoying a retired life at Lake Holiday. He is a Sailing Instructor who has traversed Lake Michigan, as well as other locales for over 30 years. Jim has a BA in Journalism and Speech with a concentration in Theatre. He has performed in many Community Theatre productions in other places he has lived. These include Felix in ‘The Odd Couple’, Buddy in ‘Come Blow Your Horn’, Mordred in ‘Camelot’ ,and Doctor Spivey in ‘One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest’. He was also the Producer and performed as the Traveling Salesman in a production of ‘Music Man’. Jim is a very proud grandfather of two and thanks his wife for doing all the babysitting while he has been busy rehearsing.
Caitlin Carr, who plays Nelly Norton, rounds out this week’s spotlight. She has participated in IVT Productions for many years and makes her home in Sandwich with her new husband, Kyle. She has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and is currently employed at Marion Joy Rehabilitation Hospital. She has loved performing since High School, with Musicals being her favorite. One of favorite shows was ‘Once Upon A Mattress’ where she portrayed a Maid. She also has been seen in several summer musicals in Kaneland. IVT productions include Melodramas at the Sandwich Fair, and ‘Snow
White’. Her eventual goal is to pursue a Masters Degree in Nursing. She thanks her husband and her family for all their love and support.
