Office 365 Student Advantage takes flight at NIU

Office 365 Student Advantage is up and running.

As soon as it became available Aug. 15, students started signing in. By the end of the first day of fall semester, 1,844 students had signed in at O365.niu.edu.

All students have a subscription as long as they are enrolled. They can install Office 365 on their desktops, laptops, tablets and phones.

Office 365 for Faculty and Staff

Faculty and staff will get Office 365 starting in September with Lync, instant messaging that features text, voice and video conferencing; and OneDrive, a place to store documents accessible from almost anywhere on any device.

Outlook will follow in spring 2015.

All faculty and staff already have free access to Office 2013 through Microsoft’s Enrollment for Education Solutions (formerly known as the Microsoft Campus Agreement). Users in need of Office 2013 should speak to their technical support staff.
