Nursing Home Cancels Open House

The DeKalb County Rehab & Nursing Home, 2600 North Annie Glidden, in DeKalb, has an outbreak of residents with respiratory infections, some of which have tested positive for influenza. To protect the health of all of our residents, staff and the community, the Open House scheduled for this Saturday, December 13th, 2014 has been cancelled.

To minimize exposure and spread of germ to or from each other:

• Do not visit if you have been exposed to flu like symptoms, feel like you are ‘coming down with something,’ or are currently sick.
• Do not bring children into facility if they are sick or have been exposed.
• There are other instructions posted at the entrance to each nursing unit. Please read them before you enter.
• Please call the nursing home if you have any questions. They will contact the family of any resident who is sick, so you can assume your loved one is not having symptoms unless you have heard otherwise.
