The IDEAg Northern Illinois Farm Show will be held at the NIU Convocation Center this Wednesday and Thursday, January 7-8, 2015. Booked as “The Essential Ag Event in the Midwest”, the show hours are Wednesday, Jan 7: 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. and Thursday, Jan 8: 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. There is no charge for admission; however parking fee is $5.
With over 5,000 attendees and 200 local and leading exhibitors, the IDEAg Northern Illinois Farm Show is a convenient venue for producers in northern Illinois, southern Wisconsin and eastern Iowa to meet with agribusinesses under one roof. The show will feature a multitude of highly informative and strong educational programs developed by the University of Illinois Extension Services located in the main meeting room of the NIU Convocation Center.
Seminars include:
- Wednesday, Jan. 7 – “Updates to the 2014 Farm Bill” presented by University of Illinois staff, 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
- “Weather Trends in Agriculture” by Candice King, chief meteorologist, WTVO TV, Rockford, 1:30-2:30 p.m.
- Thursday, Jan. 8 – “Update on 2014 Research Projects at the Northern IL Agronomy Research Center” by Russ Higgins, U of I Extension ag educator, 10-11 a.m.
The educational sessions have been arranged by the local Soil and Water Conservation District, the Farm Service Agency, county Extension office and The DeKalb County Farm Bureau. Stop by the DeKalb County Farm Bureau booth, located on the upper level of the main exhibit hall, to learn more about the Farm Bureau Foundation.
