We empathize with the Bogenberger family and acknowledge their feelings in what has been found by the court to be a wrongful death. We trust in the wisdom of the judicial system as pertains to these cases and again offer condolences to the family regarding this tragic loss.

My heart goes out to the family of this young man who lost his life to a senseless act. This “negotiated plea” makes my blood boil for many reasons. I just don’t understand how a first time offender of a theft, where everything was returned, cannot get a reduction of a felony to a misdemeanor, but an act that caused a death can be reduced to a misdemeanor? Where is the logic in that? That is convoluted logic. So apparently someone’s property is worth more than a human life? If this is the thinking of our current States Attorney’s office, it’s definitely time for a change.

Disgusting to say the least !
