Season Tickets and Mini-Plan Remain Best Value
With the college football preseason magazines tabbing Northern Illinois as the favorite to win the West Division of the Mid-American Conference, the time to get tickets to see the Huskies play in 2010 is now.
While season tickets for all five home games offer the best value and NIU’s three-game mini-plan, featuring any three of NIU’s five home games for just $50 is becoming increasingly popular, beginning Tuesday, July 6, fans can order tickets for the 2010 individual games to be played at Huskie Stadium.
Tickets can be ordered online through Northern Illinois’ official athletics website at www.NIUHuskies.com (click the “Tickets” link at the top of the page and link to Ticketmaster at bottom of football page), by calling the NIU Athletics Ticket Office at 815-752-6800 or by stopping by the ticket office, located in the NIU Convocation Center, from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday.
Individual game tickets for Northern Illinois’ season opener versus North Dakota (Sept. 11) as well as MAC foes Temple (Oct. 9), Central Michigan (Oct. 23) and Toledo (Nov. 9) are $20 each for the general public, while tickets for the Oct. 16 Homecoming game versus Buffalo are $25. Senior citizens (62 and older), youth (8th grade and under) and student guest tickets for Homecoming are $20 each and are priced at $15 each for the remaining five home contests.
NIU is also taking orders for tickets to the team’s 2010 road games at Iowa State (Sept. 2), Illinois (Sept. 18), Minnesota (Sept. 25), Akron (Oct. 2), Western Michigan (Oct. 30), Ball State (Nov. 20) and Eastern Michigan (Nov. 26).
Northern Illinois is now taking additional requests for Illinois game tickets from all fans and will be able to fill all requests turned in by the initial July 2 deadline. The Huskies are also still taking orders for the Fan Bus Packages to Iowa State and Minnesota for Huskie Athletic Support Fund members and season ticket holders. Deadline to reserve a spot on those one-day trips is July 30.
Fans are reminded that with single game prices at $20 and $25, SEASON football tickets continue to be one of the region’s best values at just $85 for all five games. NIU faculty and staff, Varsity Club (former letterwinners), NIU Alumni Association members and senior citizens can purchase season tickets for only $74. The three-game mini-plan allows fans to choose any three 2010 games, including Homecoming, to get the same reserved seat for all three games for just $50.
