A new law, signed by Governor J.B. Pritzker, says that businesses that serve alcohol can offer a free drink to those who provide proof that they’ve been vaccination against COVID-19. The deal is good through July 20. It’s meant to get people back into restaurants and bars as more COVID-19 restrictions are lifted. The law is an effort between the liquor industry, the Illinois Liquor Control Commission and the General Assembly.
The law also allows bars and restaurants to continue offering pickup and delivery cocktails which became popular during the pandemic.
