
Emily Faulkner
The DeKalb Public Library has hired a new director; Emily Faulkner will be taking over for Dee Coover, who is retiring after serving as the library’s director for ten years.
Faulkner has more than 10 years’ experience as a professional librarian; she’s currently the Cultural and Civic Engagement Librarian at the Chicago Public Library…managing more than 30 partnerships with outside organizations for 80 branch libraries within the city.
According to her LinkedIn page, she also currently serves as the Director of Chicagoland Rainbow Families, as Advisory Council Member/Volunteer Coordinator of the Chicago Southside Mini Maker Faire and as a Lions Club International Peace Poster Contest Judge.
Faulkner holds a Master of Information Science degree from City University in London, England. She will begin her new job on Monday, January 16th, 2017.
