On October 28th Americans most celebrate National Chocolate Day (some celebrate all year long). Chocolate Day is a special day dedicated to all things chocolate. The way to observe the day is by treating yourself to one of the many chocolate delicacies available – food or beverage. Whether it be a chocolate cocktail, candy bar, a chocolate cake or something a little more elegant.
No one cares how the celebration of chocolate started. A common assumption is that it is a day that was created by one or more chocolate confectioneries, more than like the Hersey chocolate family.
Chocolate comes from the seed of the tropical Theobroma cacao tree and grows mostly in Mexico, Central America, and Northern South America.
Chocolate is sold in a variety of ways:
- Unsweetened baking chocolate
- Sweet chocolate
- Milk chocolate
- Dark chocolate
- White chocolate
Chocolate is used in cakes, desserts, and treats as well as select beverages.
Some of the best chocolate cocktails are served at Ellwoods Steak and Seafood in DeKalb.
Stop in after work and ask Wes Galvin to make you one of his favorite chocolate martinis.
