Today is Children’s Mental Health Awareness Day. Globally, 50 percent of mental illnesses that occur in a lifetime begin by age 14 according to the World Health Organization. Mental health is important to overall health. Children’s mental disorders affect many children and families, boys and girls of all ages, ethnic/racial backgrounds, and regions of the United States experience mental disorders. Without early diagnosis and treatment, children with mental disorders can have problems at home, in school, and in forming friendships. #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth
