I’ll drink to that … may be your personal motto, and if so, this is your day. National Beer Day is celebrated on April 7th every year. This day recognizes the world’s most widely consumed alcoholic beverage, beer. Following water and tea, beer is also the third most popular drink overall.
On April 7, 1933, President Roosevelt took the major first step toward ending Prohibition and signed a law allowing people to brew and distribute beer in the United States. Upon signing the legislation, FDR famously stated, “I think this would be a good time for a beer.” For the first time in thirteen years, beer drinkers celebrated and we’re happy to be able to purchase beer again. On that same day, 1.5 million barrels of beer were consumed, inspiring the holiday celebrated today.
Beer Drinkers Are Considered The Most Approachable People:
Both women (70%) and men (59%) who drink beer are perceived as more approachable than drinkers of any other alcoholic beverage. Having a pint in the U.K. (England, Ireland, Scotland, and Wales) is a social standard for meeting people. Whether it is a drink after work with friends, a back yard B-B-Q, or social event honoring friends, beer drinkers always seem to be happy.
