Go to see a free holiday movie from the Sycamore State Street Theatre this weekend! This weekend, December 14th and 15th 2013, they will be showing the ‘Christmas Vacation’ Movie. Shows start at 11am. Bring a gift for Toys for Tots! Sycamore State Street Theatre is located at 420 W. State St. in Sycamore.
Or, if you’re more in the nostalgic mood, go see “It’s a Wonderful Life” at the Egyptian Theatre this Saturday, December 14th at 1pm. The holiday classic starring James Stewart as George Bailey, a man who has given up his dreams in order to help his family and others, and whose imminent suicide on Christmas Eve brings about the intervention of his guardian angel,Clarence Odbody. Clarence shows George all the lives he has touched and how different life in his community of Bedford Falls would be had he never been born. Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for students and seniors. The Egyptian Theatre is located at 135 N. 2nd. Street in DeKalb.
And don’t forget, the Holiday Lights Train is still offering free train rides in Waterman this weekend too! Pete’s ‘Holiday Lights Train’ make for some great holiday family fun. The train ride will take you past Santa and his reindeer, giant toy soldiers, giant candy canes, streetlights, a snowfall, jumping reindeer angels and much more.
The Holiday Lights Train will run continuously all evening as long as there are people on the train. Kids can meet Santa on Fridays 6-8pm and Saturdays and Sundays from 5-7pm. There is professional photography available or bring your camera so you don’t miss this great photo opportunity. Pete’s Train is located at 435 S. Birch St. in Waterman.
