It’s election season and the candidates have been extremely busy with Candidate Forums and Meet & Greets this time around. That is an excellent thing for our residents. There should be no excuse to not know the candidates with all of these opportunities!

Today, Monday, March 20th is also the first day for Early Voting at satellite sites: DeKalb Township building, NIU Holmes Student Center, Kirkland Village Hall and the Sandwich Fire Department. More information and sample ballots can be found here.
This week, on Tuesday, March 21st, there will be a Meet and Greet at House Cafe beginning at 5:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. Come get informed and meet the potential DeKalb city officials in the upcoming April Election. The House Cafe is located at 263 E. Lincoln Hwy. in DeKalb.
Oak Crest Retirement Center is hosting a forum for the DeKalb mayoral candidates up for election on April 4, 2017. It will take place in the Little Theatre at Oak Crest this Wednesday, March 22nd beginning at 7pm. The public is invited to attend. Oak Crest is located at 2944 Greenwood Acres Dr. in DeKalb.
And on Thursday, March 30th there will be at Meet the candidates night at University Village beginning at 6:30 PM. University Village is located at 722 N Annie Glidden Rd. in DeKalb.
Also on Thursday, March 23rd, there will be a Sycamore’s Mayoral Candidates Night beginning at 6pm, at the Regal Center in downtown Sycamore. It will be a Mayoral Candidates event, but all other candidates running in the Sycamore Spring 2017 election have been invited the opportunity to meet and answer questions from their constituents as well. The Regale Center is located at 124 ½ South California Street in Sycamore.
