Michael ‘Mike’ Marquardt not only resigned from the DeKalb City Council but is no longer employed at the Kishwaukee Country Club. Mr. Marquardt was the business manager for the Kishwaukee Country Club for the past several years. His alleged termination was confirmed by a staff member at the Kishwaukee Country Club who wishes to remain anonymous. Efforts to have additional confirmations from other staff and Board members resulted in no comments or no returned phone call to DeKalb County Online.
Police vehicles were dispatched to Kishwaukee Country Club on Tuesday morning, December 4th and additional details have not been posted. Additional information will be posted as it becomes available.
This past week Mayor Jerry Smith accepted the resignation of Michael Marquardt, Alderman for the Third Ward of the City of DeKalb. The resignation is effective as of December 6, 2018. In a letter to the Mayor, Mr. Marquardt indicated that he was resigning for personal reasons.
Mr. Marquardt has held City office since May of 2015, with his current term due to expire in May of 2019. Details on filling the vacancy created by this resignation have not yet been discussed. Additional information on someone to replace Mr. Marquart will be provided as it becomes available.
The City hopes to find someone that can both fill the temporary 3rd Ward position, but has desires to run in the April election. Candidates that would like to file petitions for the 1st, 3rd, 5th and 7th wards can do so on Monday, December 10 at 8:30 AM in the Ellwood Conference room at City Hall.

Last Tuesday was December 4th, not the 6th.
Wonder why the cops were called to the country club? They leaving details out, earlier post says the cops said they are not investigating him and have no charges! If all that’s true why is this news? Coruption at it’s best in dekalb county!
