
Local DeKalb County Activist JJ Wett has launched an exploratory committee for the interest in running for 2nd Ward Alderman seat in DeKalb (ILL). This election will be in 2021 and will include DeKalb Wards 2, 4, and 6 as well as Mayor.
JJ Wett is involved locally with the DeKalb County Democratic Party and has promoted a variety of social programs in the area. After graduating from NIU, he served on the DeKalb Commission for Disabilities from 2009 to 2013. He is currently the Clinical Director at the DeKalb County Youth Service Bureau.
NOTE: The election above is in 2021 and not part of the fall November election. There have been others interested in running for Ward 2 in DeKalb, but waiting to announce until after the fall general election. There have been no reports about Wards 4, 6, and the Mayor’s position. Currently, Mayor Jerry Smith and 6th Ward Councilmember Mike Verbic have said they will be making some announcements in September.
