Here We Grow
Children’s Community Theatre ( CCT) was founded on September 17, 1955. For more than 50 years, the organization has presented musicals for community children, including Annie, Grease, Wizard of Oz, 1776, Peter Pan, The Nutcracker, Beauty and the Beast, The Sound of Music, Aladdin, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Fiddler on the Roof, Oliver!, The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, The Music Man, and many others.
In addition, CCT sponsors theatre arts training camps that give children hands-on experience putting on a musical production.
CCT is dedicated to the development and fostering of an interest in dramatic arts among people of all ages, but especially among children and young adults. We seek the creative expression of those arts and the encouragement and appreciation of community participation in all of the theatre’s activities.
CCT is home to many creative outlets, including: CCT’s Children’s Spring Musical, CCT’s Family Show, CCT’s Beginner’s Imagination, Rising Star, and Advanced Broadway Camps, CCT’s Penguin Project, CCT’s Penguin Players, and CCT’s Stage Right Theatre.
In 2019, CCT also introduced CCT South to offer opportunities to the Southern DeKalb County Community.
Although the CCT Board of Directors encourages all directors to cast as many individuals as possible in each production, it is not always possible to give everyone a role. However, all children who participate in our summer camp theatre education programs will participate in a performance.
