Collecting – buying? Clearing out – selling? Listening – enjoying? Performing – entertaining? Road tripping – shopping? Whatever you choose, there is something for you this weekend, August 9, 10, 11 at the 7th Annual Lincoln Highway BuyWay, billed as the “World’s Longest Yard Sale” now covering five states. Although the number changes as the country’s first paved road stretches across the miles, Lincoln Highway in DeKalb is Route 38.
DeKalb participation centers on two historic sites, the DeKalb Area Women’s Center parking lot at 415 North 11th Street with rain location inside the Old Finn Hall at 1021 State Street and the Joseph Glidden Homestead on Lincoln Highway east of Annie Glidden Road (921 W. Lincoln Hwy.). DAWC hours begin at 10 a.m. on all three days ending at 3 p.m. on Thursday and Saturday, staying open until 9 p.m. on Friday to coincide with the regular weekly open house and gallery viewing. Hours for the garage sale at the Glidden Homestead are 9 a.m.-2 p.m. all three days.
For those who wish to sell items, parking spaces may be reserved for $5 each in the DAWC lot for as long as you can be there. Anything goes — housewares, tools, garden items, collectibles, antiques, books, toys, clothes. Bring your own tables and chairs. Canopies require two spaces. Live music is being planned for this group sale.

I added ten more sales for Rochelle tonight, bringing sales there to around 50. Ashton will have over 30 sales on Saturday and Fulton will have 67 sales.
