Lincoln Highway Buy-Way Runs Thursday – Saturday

The Lincoln Highway Buy-Way is back for 2013, with yard sales stretching across West Virginia, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, and Iowa. In Illinois, heavy participation begins in DeKalb and heads west. Highlights in Illinois include citywide sales in Fulton and Ashton and Rochelle businesses. Additionally, the DeKalb Area Women’s Center on 1021 State St. in DeKalb will be hosting flea market sales in its parking lot, with an indoor rain location. Traveling westward, there will be sales in DeKalb, Rochelle, Ashton, Franklin Grove, Dixon, Morrison, Fulton, and places in between! The Fulton Chamber of Commerce will host dozens and dozens of yard sales for Friday and Saturday. Stop for lunch at the Methodist Church in Morrison for walking tacos and check out the rummage sale!

The sponsor of the yard sales, the Lincoln Highway Association, is a charitable organization open to all, tracing its roots back to the original organizers of the Lincoln Highway, which celebrates its 100th anniversary in 2013! The Lincoln Highway Buy-Way began in Ohio and spread to neighboring states and now spans hundreds of miles across five states. The Lincoln Highway Buy-Way is an annual event, the second weekend of August.
